Supporting Emission-Free, United Tractors (UNTR) Launches the Latest Komatsu Hybrid Excavator
The Indonesian
government is strongly committed to realizing net zero emissions (NZE) or zero
carbon emissions which are targeted to be achieved by 2060. This zero emission
is to overcome the risk of climate change in the future, which is partly due to
the high levels of exhaust emissions from motor vehicles and industry.
To help create an
environmentally friendly ecosystem and prioritize sustainability, PT United
Tractors Tbk (UNTR) and Komatsu officially launched their latest hybrid
excavator product, as well as the first in Indonesia for the 30-ton class,
namely Komatsu HB365-1. This excavator uses hybrid components that are more
durable and reliable in utilizing electrical energy to produce powerful
performance and help reduce emission footprints by up to 13 kg / hour and save
fuel consumption by up to 17% when compared to non-hybrid model excavators.
Corporate
Governance & Sustainability Division Head of United Tractors Sara K. Loebis
said, although currently policies governing exhaust emissions are only
available for passenger or commercial vehicles, and have not been specific to
the use of heavy equipment, United Tractors and Komatsu always support
environmental sustainability in Indonesia by presenting products[1]products
that are environmentally friendly.
"Together
with Komatsu, which is a pioneer in presenting hybrid excavators in Indonesia,
we continue to innovate so that we can play an active role in minimizing
negative impacts on humans and the environment and contribute gradually to
realizing an Indonesia that is free from emissions," said Sara in her
statement To realize An Indonesia with carbon neutrality by 2060, it is known
that the government continues to encourage all parties to develop and utilize
technology that is able to reducing
carbon emission levels, including one of them by utilizing electrical energy in
industrial activities.
Sara said, as a
company that is heavily involved in selling heavy equipment for industry,
United Tractors has a special concern for environmental issues as part of the
implementation of environmental, social &governance (ESG) initiatives.
Therefore, the presence of Komatsu HB365-1 is a form of the company's
commitment in developing environmentally friendly products. United Tractors
strives to realize sustainability aspirations that are in line with the theme
of Working to Build Sustainability entering its 50th anniversary, through
environmentally friendly products. The company is also continuously making
efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to prevent an increase in the
earth's average temperature through energy efficiency, the use of renewable
energy, and environmental conservation efforts that have an impact as a carbon
sink.
On the same
occasion, Marketing Division Head of United Tractors Etot Listyono revealed
that Komatsu has a culture of continuous improvement or continuous improvement
in every product created for the target of a world that is free from emissions.
Komatsu continues to design, develop, test, and present the next generation of
