Now Live On Instagram Can Be Up To 4 Hours
During this Covid-19 pandemic, Instagram continues to adapt its services, such as the duration of Live on IG, which can now be up to 4 hours. This is because people who are still limited to activities outside the home or gatherings hold events such as concerts, study courses, meetings, and many other activities.
Many of its users
have switched to Instagram Live to perform live broadcasts. Therefore,
Instagram has decided to significantly extend the time limit for IG Live. As
the Tech Crunch site reports on Thursday, 29.10.2020, IG Live's time limit is 4
hours from the original 1 hour and this applies to the whole world.
This is the
company's ambition to help with streaming activities during the current
pandemic. The categories that require a long duration of up to 4 hours are yoga
teachers, musicians, artists, activists, event launches and other events.
Instagram Live is a place where people gather when there are musicians or celebrities who like to broadcast live. In the United States, the use of IG Live increased by 70 percent compared to the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only that, many of the IG Live creators have extended their stage after the 60-minute deadline set by Instagram.
This change in
the duration of the Live IG to 4 hours follows in the footsteps of Facebook
Live, which initially had a long duration. You can also run Facebook Live from
a mobile device or desktop with a different duration. If you live with Dektsop
or Facebook API, you can live stream for up to 8 hours. When using Mobile,
Facebook is only 4 hours.
The provision of an IG Live time limit of only up to 4 hours can be used by Instagram users starting today. But Instagram has a mandatory requirement that your account must have a good reputation. This means that the account must not have committed any infringements of intellectual property rights or Instagram services policies in the past.
In line with this change, Instagram also wants to update the "Live now" section on IGTV as well as the one at the end of the live stream to keep users focused on more live content.
Instagram also
said it wants to increase the option that allows creators to archive their live
streams for up to 30 days. Before they can archive the live stream, users will
not be able to publish their live stream to IGTV until the live stream is
complete.
